Comps

This was the one I ended up liking the most. The question will come up at the top and answers from students would show up in a smaller size at the bottom. Depending on the length of the answer there could be multiple answers on a spread.

layout? maybe!

this is the layout i liked the most out of the ones i attempted. it's more designed thinking of one opinion being displayed at a time. i was also looking at fonts and dafont.com has quite a few that i thought were possibilities so i'll add a link to the ones i was looking at. the font in the image i have is also one of the ones i thought had potential so i just included the title of the font in the composition.

costs...

Arduino Mobile Pack the Cost: 88 Eur = $124.54

This includes the Arduino Deumilanove and the GPRS shield module for Arduino (Hilo - Sagem)

This is the shield the would require a sim card in order to receive texts.

The sim card activation would require a $20 one time activation fee and a plan of unlimited texts at $10 per month.

I am having trouble finding the parts that we really need. Mainly with the GPRS unit. However I did find this site where people can text in responses and have it display instant results.

costs are free to $1200 a semester.

Step One: Background reasearch

Ok, so from what I have read and studied up on this is what we will need in order to submit texts at the least. First we are going to need a sim card for a GSM network. It just so happens that I have a bran new one sitting at my house. From there we will need to get that card activated with a GSM network (AT&T, T-Mobile or AllTel) but all we need to have activated on the the card is a phone number assignment and texting options. So there will probably be some sort of hoops that we will need to jump through in order to get that.

There is also a link here where there is an arduino board talking to a twitter page. Maybe that is an option for us... I'm not sure. I am going to keep reading up on all of this. But maybe I misread something and there is a simpler way of doing this. Let me know if you think of something!

Here are some of the links that I found with lots of information about what we need to know and learn from. I highly encourage that all of us study what these say. This is how we are all going to be able to stay on the same page for this project.
